A Rapid Evolution: From Graduate Project Manager to Product Manager

“I didn't anticipate how quickly my role would evolve,” Kousha told us. “Early in my career, my manager entrusted me with significant responsibilities, allowing me to take on real projects much sooner than expected.”

Looking back on those early days, Kousha remembers thinking, "Wow, my role is evolving so fast!"  The transition from learning the basics to being fully involved in projects happened more quickly than he’d expected but that’s how it goes when one is brilliant at what they do.

Kousha was initially in training to become a project manager, a role he found quite exciting. However, as his understanding of product management and the broader software industry deepened, Kousha’s responsibilities naturally expanded. This progression led him to transition into a product management role, which fit perfectly with his growing skill set.

Kousha is thrilled with how it all turned out. His precise words were, “I really love this new role.”

A Supportive Environment for Growth

Kousha pointed out that one of the most significant aspects of his experience at Sage had been and continues to be the unwavering support he receives not only from his manager but also from his team. As Kousha demonstrated more independence in his work, his team continued supporting his growth and eventually allowed him to complete the graduate program a few months early and take on the role of Product Manager—a milestone he says he’s “very proud of.” And we’re equally as proud of him. Kousha is a shining example of the talent we’re committed to investing in at Sage.
