Former PwC chairman and senior partner Ian Powell, who retired from the firm in June after a 39 year career with PwC has been awarded a knighthood for services to business in the New Year's Honours list.
Richard Winter, a senior PwC assurance partner, receives a CBE for voluntary services to international development in recognition of his work for Save the Children
Commenting on these Honours, Kevin Ellis, chairman and senior partner of PwC, said:
“This knighthood recognises Ian Powell 's exceptional leadership in professional services and support for the charitable sector, especially his work in championing higher apprenticeships, the PwC Foundation to promote social inclusion and sustainable development, and the Invictus Games. Ian led PwC for the last 8 years of his 39 year career with the firm, overseeing the creation of significant employment and training opportunities for thousands of people.
“I’m very proud that one of our partners, Richard Winter, has been recognised with a CBE for his charitable work for Save the Children.”
