Natalie’s first week as a Civil Servant
Category: Gender (Equality & Identity), Returnships (Returning to work)
Last week, I became part of the Army Civilian People Team. After being self-employed for the past 7 years, I made the decision to go back into employment.

To take that leap, it was important for me to find an interesting and rewarding role within a supportive organisation where I could make a difference.
Joining the Army Headquarters as a Talent Acquisition Partner has allowed me to utilise my 11 years' recruitment experience, but also enhance my knowledge further within their HR function. It was mentioned in my interview just how many opportunities there are within the civil service, but it isn’t until you join that you really understand the endless opportunities available to you.
I have been absolutely blown away by the support and warm welcome that I have received from my entire team. Each person has taken the time to introduce themselves and offer support which is exactly what you want and need when starting a new role. It has also been refreshing to work for an organisation that really encourages a diverse and inclusive working environment.
So, if you are a seeking a rewarding role within an organisation that puts their employees’ health, well-being, and personal development first, then I would strongly encourage you to consider joining the Army Civilian Workforce.
