Nationwide: Which is the best bank to work for in the UK?

It's official - Nationwide Building Society has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK! Guess where we were placed? 11th in the Sunday Times' list of Top 25 Big Companies.

The awards were announced at the 2014 Best Companies To Work For Awards celebration at Battersea Evolution on 27th February.

Britain's biggest building society was awarded a two-star rating, which is deemed 'outstanding' by Best Companies, the independent employment specialist that aims to "make the world a better workplace".

Highly Engaged Employees

The list has been compiled from extensive employee surveys. Employees from around the country filled in reports on their experiences and perceptions of their workplace. Our strong performance shows the high level of engagement our employees feel while working here.

According to the results, almost three in four (72% to be precise) employees love working at Nationwide. Further findings show:

• The majority of those questioned feel there's a high level of support within their immediate team with 86% agreeing that people in their team go out of their way to help.
• 85% of our employees felt their manager talks openly and honestly with them, helping to create a positive working environment
• The majority of our employees also feel that we have a positive impact on the wider community, with 87% believing that we have a strong social conscience.
