Money Advice Service named Impact Champion

Money Advice Service named an Impact Champion by Inspiring Impact.

Commenting on the news that the Money Advice Service has been named an ‘Impact Champion’ by Inspiring Impact, Nick Watkins, Head of Insight at the Money Advice Service, said:

“Inspiring Impact is delivering significant results by facilitating collaboration between charities, social enterprises and delivery bodies in order to co-ordinate impact measurement. We are delighted to announce our role as an Inspiring Impact Champion as we prepare to launch the new Financial Capability Strategy for the UK in the Autumn. We will be supporting more robust and consistent evaluation across the financial capability sector to increase our understanding of what works, maximise the sector’s collective impact and help the sector make the best use of its resources.

“This is the latest in a series of initiatives that demonstrates the Money Advice Service’s approach to partnering with key third party organisations in order to maximise influence and impact. This was a core recommendation in the Independent Review conducted by HM Treasury earlier this year and something we are actively working to increase.”

This partnership with Inspiring Impact follows a series of recent announcements aimed to evaluate financial education interventions. These include a joint funded project with the Education Endowment Fund to evaluate the success of school-based money management programmes. We also launched a new collaboration between the Money Advice Service and the Big Lottery Fund earlier this month to deliver a new £400,000 pilot project in Wales aiming to better equip parents to teach their children about money management skills.
