Celebrating Women across the Ministry of Defence - International Women's Day 2024

As part of Women’s History Month, Friday 8^th of March marks this year's international women's day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women; and marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

Join us on March 8, 2024, for International Women's Day under the theme 'Invest in women: Accelerate progress”, and take a stand with us using the hashtag #InvestInWomen.

This year’s theme is ‘Inspiring Inclusion’, with the UN’s theme, ‘Invest in women: Accelerate progress’. International Women’s Day is not just about celebrating women but it’s about celebrating everyone committed to forging women’s equality and a more inclusive world for women!

Across the Ministry of Defence, we’re holding a number of events to mark the occasion and showcase how the Army Celebrates women, from talks on inclusion and allyship; sessions on how to be good at networking; to a bake sale raising money for a local Women’s refuge & crisis centre and supporting local Primary and High Schools with a request for donations of feminine hygiene products and supplies.
