Tell us about your current role?

Currently I am wearing a dual hat of a computational design engineer and India coordinator for Citizen Development. Both these roles are deeply rooted in digital transformation. The former enables me to directly work in automating workflows and creating digital tools for engineers across different disciplines. The latter has led to fostering a community of professionals with a computational mindset, enabling them to share digital solutions, collaborate, upskill, and get necessary support.

What inspired you to pursue a digital career?

Coming from an architecture background, I was always curious about the ‘Whys’ and ‘Hows’ of design—Why are things designed in a certain way? How do they create an impact? How can we ensure that the solution is optimal? Seeking answers led me to the digital space, where I could leverage data and adopt a computational mindset. This approach allowed me to create solutions that align with design principles while being backed by science and measurable outcomes.

What digital wisdom would you pass on to others?

To cultivate a bird’s eye perspective on a given problem is essential for innovation. The beauty of digital space is that two unrelated technologies/methods can be put together to develop novel solutions. So, step outside your comfort zone, explore new approaches, and connect with others to learn about their processes. Curiosity and collaboration are key drivers of digital transformation.

If you could change one thing about the digital landscape to make it better for women, what would it be?

The digital landscape is inherently unbiased and offers equal space to men and women. However, to make it even better we should focus on increasing visibility and representation of women in leadership and technical roles, ensuring they have equal access to mentorship and resources to thrive.

What is a favorite tech tool or app you can’t live without?

I’ve been off social media for over six years, so LinkedIn and WhatsApp are my go-to tools. LinkedIn keeps me updated on professional news and industry trends, while WhatsApp helps me stay connected with friends and family without the distractions of traditional social media.

What one word describes your digital journey?

One word that describes my digital journey is ‘Unscripted’. It was never intentional, planned, or structured- just a series of happy accidents. My curiosity organically drew me to circumstances and people that gradually opened doors to digital space. I am exploring it bit by bit every day.
