Celebrating Diwali – The Defence Hindu Network

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. To celebrate Diwali, the Defence Hindu Network hosted an event to bring together service personnel, their families and community members to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

For those serving in Defence, this celebration includes traditional prayers, cultural dances, and a fireworks display, reflecting the rich heritage of the Hindu community within the Armed Forces.

The Defence Hindu Network is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for Hindu personnel within the Defence community, allowing like-minded individuals to come together to ensure matters affecting those of the faith are incorporated into MOD policy, supporting faith and customs and promoting inclusivity within Defence.

The network supports serving personnel, Civil Servants, Veterans and their families, and acts as a representative body to offer support for practising faith and engage with the local community to raise awareness and promote continued efforts to improve diversity and inclusion within Defence.
