dunnhumby Returners Programme: Insight Event

Following the success of dunnhumby’s returner programmes over the last two years, dunnhumby is excited to continue the partnership with Women Returners for the dunnhumby Returners Programme this year, designed to support talented professionals who have taken an extended career break to get back into the workplace. 

 

Join dunnhumby virtually for an Insight Event to hear from their business leaders about the great work they do and the opportunities they have. You will hear from former returners about their experiences and potential hiring managers, and benefit from a coaching workshop led by Women Returners to help you to prepare for your return to work.

Location: Virtual (for London/Manchester opportunities)

Date: Thursday 26 May 2022 (10 am - 12.45 pm including a break)

Who is the event for?

The event is aimed at potential applicants for the dunnhumby Returners Programme, who wish to learn more about dunnhumby and what they offer.

You will have been on a career break (for any reason) for two or more years and have mid or senior level experience in the areas of:

• Software Engineering (including Testers and Scrum Masters)
• Data Science
• Data Consulting
• Product Management
• Media Sales

There could be many reasons for you taking time out; this may have been for childcare or eldercare, or to relocate.  During your career break you may have been working on a part-time or freelance basis to fit around your other commitments or you may not have done any paid work for a number of years.

 

About the dunnhumby Returners Programme

• Software Engineering – working with new technologies, you’ll build critical infrastructure, powered by their world-class data science
• Data Science – joining a market-leading, specialist data science team and using cutting edge technologies, you'll analyse large data sets to simplify complex problems for their clients
• Product Management – you'll work on their market-leading products, leading scrum teams and owning the product roadmap
• Data Consulting – helping clients to understand and optimise their customer data to deliver their strategies and unlock vital information about their business
• Media Sales – join a customer-first media sales team to build trusted consultative partnerships with our clients, and create plans to support the engagement strategies for Tesco and other large retail brands using market leading data science

Returners Programme details 

• A paid 6-month returnship, starting in September 2022, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role
• Roles will be available across dunnhumby's technology, science and media business areas as detailed above
• Roles will be based in London (Hammersmith) and Manchester. 
• You will receive coaching support from Women Returners to help you transition successfully back into the workplace, as well as ongoing support from dunnhumby's internal programme managers and support team
• Flexible working options, including part-time working, may be available so dunnhumby requests you include these preferences in your application if they are important to you, along with any reasonable adjustments required.  

It is not a requirement that you attend the launch event to apply for the programme.

dunnhumby have always been an adaptive, forward-thinking, and flexible business. They currently have a hybrid approach to work with a mix of working from the office and from home.

• your motivation for attending the event
• which area of their business you are most keen to hear about so they can enable you to meet virtually with business leaders from this area.  The areas they anticipate hiring in are:

• Data Science
• Product Management
• Data Consultancy
• Media Sales

Lastly, as part of the insight event, there will be a panel session with former dunnhumby returners, so if you have a question that you’d like them to answer please include this in your email. 

They aren’t expecting pages of notes, they simply want to learn about you and check this is the right opportunity.
