Hi, I’m Laura and I work as a Civil Servant with the Army. I lead the Army Personnel Research and Consultancy team, overseeing the planning and delivery of high impact research, and leading our networks across MOD. We get involved in a wide range of research activities from annual staff surveys, to improving soldiers’ physical and cognitive performance, and the introduction of robotics and autonomous systems into the Army. Innovation projects are beginning to feature more prominently in our portfolio, and I am about to start an exciting 3-year project to embed sports science and behavioural science skillsets across the Army.
I am a Chartered Psychologist, but throughout my career I have developed a diverse range of skills, qualifications and experience, from operational analysis and experimentation, to the development of science and technology strategy. Whilst I have been working for the Army there have been plenty of development opportunities; I have completed the Future Leaders Scheme (FLS), a PG Cert in Leadership & Management, and PG Dip in Digital Leadership.
Working as a Civil Servant with the Army is Anything But Uniform.
