Community Days: Celebrating a Year of Outreach at Hachette UK
Category: Social Mobility, Social Responsibility (Charity/ Volunteering/Environmentalism)
At Hachette UK, we’re proud to offer our colleagues two ‘Community Days’ each year to allow our teams to support outreach activities close to their heart.
As we start 2025, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible ways our colleagues have made the most of them throughout the year.

From taking on an Ultra Challenge in aid of the National Literacy Trust, beach cleaning as a team, hosting a stall at the Black British Book Festival and working in food banks and local independent bookshops, to organised bake sales, charity walks, and outreach in schools, our colleagues have certainly been busy!
It’s been great to see the team working with our key charity partners, Book Aid International, to pick and ship books worldwide to give those who lack access to books the opportunity to read for pleasure, study and lifelong learning. Every week, for 30 minutes, 60 of our colleagues have also been providing reading support to primary school children all over the country to help transform each child’s reading confidence and ability through our Chapter One UK partnership.
The work our team does makes such a difference in our commitment to Changing The Story, and we’re very proud of all they’ve achieved - we can’t wait to see what the team gets up to in 2025!
