Coding, Comedy & Conversations: Celebrating Women at dunnhumby

This year, we celebrated International Women's Day with a month of celebration, reflection, and action - brought to life by our dunnhumby gender equality network dhGen.

Some event highlights included:

🎤 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: On 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, our 𝗱𝗵𝗚𝗲𝗻, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 welcomed Fatiha El-Ghorri, comedian and writer to our London office, where she shared her experiences and discussed how she challenges stereotypes as a visibly identifiable Muslim woman. With this year’s Acceleration Action theme, Fatiha highlighted the universal challenges we often face and the importance of strong support networks in fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment in the workplace.

📚 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹: Dr. Kelly Vincent led a discussion on Imposter Syndrome, sponsored by dhGen, dhUnity, and dhHarmony, with 50 free audiobooks distributed to keep the conversation going.

🍰 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱: Together, we raised €386 for the Endometriosis Association of Ireland.

💻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: We donated laptops to Techshecan, and raised £4,350 to support women in tech.

📌 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲: Our first Code First Girls cohort of 2024 shared their reflections on their first 6 months at dunnhumby.

🏆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We celebrated our highest female achievers and their well-deserved recognition from colleagues.
