Tony Sutton from our IT Services team is aiming to raise vital funds to support Deaf Connexions' work in the community.

This image shows Tony Sutton in a rural, hilly landscape. He is a middle-aged man with a short beard and mustache, wearing a wide-brimmed brown hat, a light teal t-shirt with a graphic on it, and a black backpack. He is taking a selfie in what appears to be a valley or a rolling hillside. The background features grassy terrain, some pine trees, and rows of small saplings protected by light-colored tree guards. The weather looks bright and clear, capturing a great "outdoorsy" vibe that perfectly matches his Ben Nevis fundraising mission.

The charity recently lost its safe space at Norwich Deaf Centre and needs funds to continue providing services from two new temporary locations.

Tony writes: “In September, I will be hiking to the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. Almost my whole life, the Deaf Community has helped shape me into the person I am today, and now I want to give something back. Your donations will help Deaf Connexions continue providing essential services, support, and a safe space for the Deaf Community - both now and for the future. Thank you for helping protect a place that means so much to so many."

At City College Norwich, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, and Tony’s mission perfectly reflects those values. By supporting this trek, we aren't just cheering on a colleague; we are helping to ensure that the vital communication support and advocacy provided by Deaf Connexions remains accessible to people across Norfolk, including many who study and work right here at CCN. Whether it's a few pounds or a simple share of his fundraising page, every bit of support helps Tony reach that 1,345-metre summit and keeps a local lifeline open for those who need it most.
