Supply Desk is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, seeking a motivated and confident English Teacher to join their team from September.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who is passionate about literature, language, and literacy, and who is eager to inspire students to achieve their full potential.

About the Position

You will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop strong reading, writing, and communication skills while achieving excellent academic outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering creative and challenging English lessons
• Teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Supporting pupils in preparation for GCSE examinations
• Encouraging analytical thinking and a love of reading and writing
• Monitoring progress and setting clear, achievable targets
• Adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs
• Establishing clear routines and maintaining positive behaviour
• Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
• Working closely with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at secondary level
• ECTs encouraged to apply with relevant placements
• Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature
• Confident classroom presence and behaviour management skills
• A well-organised, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
• Available for a September start
• Ability to travel to Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire
