  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies to support individual learning needs.
  • Differentiate lessons and learning materials to support students of varying abilities, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Prepare students for relevant assessments and examinations, supporting them in achieving their academic targets.
  • Incorporate a range of teaching methods, resources, and activities to make lessons interactive, accessible, and culturally engaging.
  • Promote an understanding of French-speaking countries, cultures, traditions, and communities to broaden students' global awareness.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management, following the school's behaviour policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, the MFL department, and the wider school team to share resources, monitor progress, and support curriculum development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and relevant staff regarding students' progress, achievements, and areas for improvement where appropriate.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, behaviour, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of French language and grammar, with the ability to teach and develop students' language skills effectively.
  • Experience teaching French or a Modern Foreign Language in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to promoting students' safety and well-being.
  • A flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and supporting students' academic and personal development.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, in accordance with the school's recruitment requirements.
