Diversity & Inclusion

This year, our National Inclusion Week celebrations at Sanctuary were focused on the theme of Break Barriers: Navigate Change.

The image shows a large group posed together outdoors at a construction site. Key DetailsThe People: There are over 20 individuals, mostly women, lined up across an unpaved, gravel ground. Almost all of them are wearing white hard hats and high-visibility yellow safety vests over their smart-casual clothing. The Construction Site: Behind the group, a residential building under development is visible, completely clad in extensive yellow and metal scaffolding. A bright yellow rubbish chute extends vertically down the side of the scaffolding structure. Background & Surroundings: On the far left, existing residential houses and a church spire can be seen in the distance beyond the site boundary. Environment: The weather appears bright with a mix of blue sky and large white and dark clouds.

Celebrating inclusion is really important to us, so it was great to see our colleagues from across our organisation sharing their stories and getting involved throughout the week.

Our Women in Construction Network hosted a networking day featuring talks, group activities and a visit to one of our development sites where we’re delivering much-needed new affordable homes.

This image features four colleagues gathered around a display table indoors, in what looks like an office or corporate building setting. Key DetailsThe People:In the foreground on the left, a smiling man with glasses is taking a selfie-style shot wearing a patterned green shirt. Seated in the centre is a woman with long dark hair, wearing a dark green top. Standing behind her on the left is a woman in a red jacket holding a sheet of paper. On the right, a man with a beard and light blue shirt is leaning in towards the group, holding a Rubik's Cube. All four individuals are wearing green "Sanctuary" lanyards around their necks. The Display Table:Covered with a teal tablecloth featuring white branding text that reads "Corporate Services" and "RISE". On top of the table are various games and items, including a wooden Solitaire board, a Connect Four game set, small snacks/sweets, a bowl, and card games (including "Sea Snap!"). The Environment:Bright, modern indoor space with large interior glass windows, white walls, and a light-coloured wooden door frame

And colleagues from RISE, our corporate services diversity and inclusion group, hosted a board game event bringing different teams together and providing a great opportunity to connect.

We also shared lots of useful resources, while colleagues from across our organisation shared their own experiences of inclusion, both inside and outside of Sanctuary.
