Employee Volunteering at Sanctuary

We’re proud to operate an Employee Volunteering Scheme as part of our Sustainable Communities programme.

This enables employees across our organisation to volunteer for up to two working days each year, providing valuable support to our local communities and causes within them.

Whether through providing skilled labour or expertise, or simply giving up their time to lend a helping hand, our teams have made a valuable difference to a huge variety of charities, organisations, and local projects.

As well as a chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the lives of others, volunteering is also a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to meet new people, learn and share skills, and gain a wider understanding of the diverse communities that Sanctuary works in.

Employee volunteers have contributed in a huge number of different ways - from sorting donated goods for local foodbanks and charities to gardening, telephone befriending and acting as volunteer marshals at Pride celebrations.

During 2023/2024, colleagues volunteered for more than 1,800 hours in total, supporting causes in our communities across the country.
