What is The Code?
Launched in October 2020, the Tomorrow’s Engineers Code is a commitment to work toward common goals to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers.
To achieve these goals, Signatories make four pledges about their approach to funding, designing, delivering, and learning from engineering-inspiration activities (including STEM programmes dedicated to inspiring young people into engineering).
Signatories form the Code Community which is made up of engineering firms, professional institutions, government departments, subject associations, universities, museums, third sector organisations and more. Any organisation with UK operations that funds, designs and/or delivers engineering-inspiration activities is invited to become a Signatory. It’s free to become a member of this community and any organisation not meeting the criteria above, can join as a Supporter.
Together we can:
- Share and build understanding of what works
- Improve the quality, inclusivity, targeting and reach of activities designed to inspire young people
