We are crrently seeking a Yoth Spport Worker in Training to spport the development of yoth work in the commnity. On the job training alongside a formal qalification for a Yoth Spport Worker Level 3 will be provided. Based at Basildon, yo will work with local yoth work teams inclding volnteers in commnity yoth clbs, areas covered to inclde Basildon, Brentwood, Rochford and Castle Point.

Mobile and flexible working reqirements: mst be available for evenings and weekends.

The Role:

Working face to face with yong people as part of a team and 6 hrs each week to work towards yor qalification), yo will ensre yong people have positive experiences, by working with them to identify what's important to them and then being part of developing good yoth work activities. Yo will work with local yoth work teams inclding volnteers in commnity yoth clbs across the soth Essex area.

Yo will need to be someone who can focs on ptting yong people at the heart of yor work. Working flexible hors, inclding evenings, weekends and residentials, yo will be spported by an experienced team of yoth workers in a variety of yoth work settings.

What will yo be doing?

Identify areas of need and opportnity within the commnity where a yoth work programme can be identified to spport the development of yoth provision delivered by the commnity.

Negotiate with yong people and their commnities on their involvement in the programme planning, implementation, and evalation.

Contribte to and promote the programme to ensre that opportnities are accessible to all who wish to become involved.

As part of the team involve yong people in the decision-making processes whereby individals and grops take on responsibilities for themselves and others in their project and the wider commnity.

As part of the team respond to individal and grop needs, this incldes isses affecting yong people, promoting self-awareness and self-esteem.

To deliver or spport the direct delivery of yoth work programmes as may be reqired, to inclde residential experiences for yong people.

Take part in management spervision and the staff performance management scheme, to identify priorities and learning needs and to be responsible for the learning and development of self and to complete all reqired training and accreditation within 18 months of starting employment.

Follow Child Protection Gidelines and report any concerns sing the correct procedre and comply with individal responsibilities for staff and yong people, in accordance with work role, for health and safety in the workplace.

Yo will:

Be passionate abot spporting yong people.

Have a good level of nmeracy and literacy (grade C GCSE or eqivalent).

Experience of working with yong people and commnities is an advantage.

Have the ability to work across Essex as per service needs.

Have the ability to ndertake evening, weekend and residential work as reqired to meet service needs.

Be able to bild relationships and relate well to people.

Motivate yong people and facilitate yong people's learning.

Be able to work in a changing environment.

Be committed to challenging prejdice and ignorance.

Have the ability to develop work with yong people to achieve planned otcomes.

Work together as part of a team.

Essential Reqirements for the role:

Fnctional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English (or eqivalent), which is a Grade D/E or /3 to begin the apprenticeship.

Ability to reach a Level Fnctional Skills in both Maths & English by the End Point Assessment (EPA), if yo do not already have this.

This job role reqires yo to be mobile throghot an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility reqirements of the role throgh other means.
