The Opportnity

Yoth Jstice Practitioners work to redce offending by yong people, working closely with family, schools and other relevant key agencies to address the factors leading to offending and representing the Yoth Jstice Service at relevant mltiagency forms to secre better otcomes for yong people.

With experience of working with yong people with complex needs and their families demonstrating a comprehensive nderstanding of all relevant legislation and a backgrond in yoth jstice, social work or probation.

The Experience Yo Will Bring

Either a qalified and registered Social Work England Social Worker or hold a professionally accredited qalification in Probation Stdies.

Experience of working with children / yong people or yong adlts with complex needs in a criminal jstice setting and an nderstanding of the isses that affect yong people and children.

Excellent commnication skills and IT literate and ensre high-qality recording on YJS case management system.

An ability to work on yor own initiative and manage competing demands when nder pressre and awareness of own strengths and area for development and a commitment to continos professional development.

Ability to challenge yong people, their attitdes and behaviors, in an appropriate and positive manner and a commitment to working in partnership with yong people, their parents/carers and others involved in the yong person's life.

Adept at working effectively as part of a mlti-disciplinary team and across organisational bondaries.

The role reqires yo to be mobile throghot a wider operational area inclding travelling arond the conty of Essex and beyond, transporting service sers and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility reqirements of the role throgh other means is essential.
