Job Title: Workplace Adjustments & Inclusion Services Manager (part-time - Job Share)
Salary: The starting salary is £31,154, which includes allowances totalling £1,504. This salary is based on working 18 hours per week.
The salary is broken down as £29,650 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,127. Plus, a location allowance of £1,004 and a non-pensionable allowance of £500.
Location: Kilburn (hybrid working)
Hours: This is a part-time role, offering 18 hours per week. There is some flexibility in which day's these hours are taken.
About the TeamThe team is responsible for delivering programmes such as a workplace adjustments and also supporting expectant and new parents. Other responsibilities relate to inclusion activity, helping to support the wellbeing, accessibility and effectiveness of the Metropolitan Police Service workforce. The team work together to ensure colleagues have the support they need to perform at their best while promoting an inclusive working environment that enables everyone to thrive.
The team works closely with internal stakeholders, external providers and strategic partners to deliver services that support disability inclusion, family-friendly policies and workplace wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced HR professional to jointly support the delivery of these programmes.
The successful candidate will help to provide strategic oversight of Workplace Adjustments, Internal Dyslexia Assessments, Met Baby and Job Share services, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, effectively and in line with organisational priorities and legislative requirements. They will act as the joint senior decision-maker for complex workplace adjustment cases, manage stakeholder relationships, oversee service contracts and budgets, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and service evaluation.
Key Responsibilities (shared)Workplace Adjustments- Lead and oversee the provision of workplace adjustments across the organisation.
- Analyse service data to identify and remove barriers, delays and inefficiencies.
- Conduct regular reviews of processes and ways of working to ensure service effectiveness and value for money.
- Joint management for a budget of approximately £756,000, including monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Provide management information and performance reporting to stakeholders.
- Maintain overall responsibility for the Workplace Adjustments SharePoint site and content.
- Manage the contract and performance of external service providers.
- Investigate and resolve complaints relating to workplace adjustment services.
- Represent the service at strategic forums, including disability and inclusion-related groups.
Internal Dyslexia Assessments- Oversee the internal dyslexia assessment process.
- Ensure timely access to assessments for employees requiring support.
- Address issues relating to assessor engagement and service delivery.
- Monitor performance and provide management information to demonstrate service effectiveness.
- Manage complaints relating to the service.
Met Baby- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Met Baby programme.
- Maintain oversight of the Met Baby SharePoint site and associated content.
- Ensure guidance reflects current legislation and best practice.
- Monitor programme performance, including pregnancy and maternity risk assessment completion rates.
- Develop and promote Keeping In Touch (KIT) and Shared Parental Leave In Touch (SPLIT) initiatives.
- Work closely with employee advocacy groups and stakeholder networks.
- Manage complaints relating to the service.
Job Share- Lead and oversee the implementation and promotion of job sharing across the Metropolitan Police Service.
- Maintain responsibility for Job Share guidance, communications and SharePoint content.
Inquiry Management- Ensure enquiries relating to Inclusion and Employment Tribunal matters are managed effectively and within required timescales.
- Identify information gaps and improve the accessibility of relevant guidance and documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop productive partnerships with organisations such as Access to Work and the Business Disability Forum.
- Deliver presentations and briefings at internal and external events.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and represent the service as required.

Essential For The Role
Essential Skills and Experience- Demonstrable experience of working within HR, people management or employee support services.
- Strong understanding of workplace adjustments and disability inclusion.
- Knowledge of the Equality Act and its practical application within the workplace.
- Experience of managing complex and sensitive cases, balancing organisational and individual needs.
- Experience of budget management, financial monitoring and identifying efficiencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce meaningful management information.
- Experience of managing stakeholder relationships across a range of levels.
- Ability to develop guidance, proposals and process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills and Experience- An understanding of workplace adjustment and the Equality Act provisions
- Experience of contract and supplier management.
- Experience of managing SharePoint content and information resources.
- Experience of delivering presentations, workshops or awareness sessions.
