Are you ready for a career that challenges, inspires, and protects? Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service (GMFRS) is looking for dedicated individuals to become Wholetime Firefighters. This is your chance to be part of a team that saves lives, responds to emergencies, and works within the community to prevent fires and promote safety.

What Does a Firefighter Do?

Firefighters do more than fight fires - they respond to road traffic accidents, floods, chemical spills, and major incidents. They also focus on prevention, carrying out home fire safety assessments, checking smoke alarms, and educating the public on fire safety.

Career Progression & Salary

Complete a two-year apprenticeship to become a fully qualified Firefighter, with opportunities for promotion to Crew Manager, Watch Manager, or specialist roles.

• Trainee Firefighter - £30,384 per year
• Competent Firefighter - £38,881 per year
