You will lead the integration of organisational well-being and psychosocial risk management within WSP's major projects across the UK&I region. As a dedicated project-based resource, the role will be embedded within project environments for a significant proportion of time, working directly alongside project teams to influence day-to-day practices, culture, and performance.

In partnership with Project Leadership Teams, HSEQ, HR, and the Global Engagement and Well-being team, the role will design, deliver and embed evidence-based interventions that mitigate psychosocial risks, strengthen workforce well-being, and improve project, people, and business outcomes.

The role will also drive the adoption of global well-being initiatives, policies, and programmes across UK&I major projects, translating corporate strategy into practical project delivery

A little more about your role...

Major Project Well-Being
  • Act as the subject matter expert for organisational well-being on major projects.
  • Partner with Project Directors and Leadership Teams and HSEQ Leads to integrate well-being into project governance, mobilisation and delivery.
  • Contribute to major bids and pursuits by providing well-being and psychosocial risk expertise, helping to shape client proposals, project delivery approaches and wellbeing commitments that support sustainable workforce performance.
  • Support projects to identify psychosocial hazards and develop proactive control measures that reduce risk and support sustainable performance and positive wellbeing outcomes.
  • Provide subject matter advice on complex well-being challenges affecting project teams.


Psychosocial Risk Management
  • Facilitate project stress risk assessments and support projects in developing risk mitigation plans in line with contractual commitments.
  • Work with HSEQ teams to embed psychosocial risk controls within project management systems, HSW plans and governance processes.
  • Monitor emerging well-being risks and trends and recommend targeted interventions based on project data and workforce feedback.
  • Support project teams in responding to critical incidents, periods of change and high-risk workforce environments.
  • Support UKI and projects on aligning with external guidance and benchmarks such as IS45003
  • Contribute to a Global focus on psychosocial risk management


Design and Delivery of Well-being Interventions
  • Design and implement project-level well-being initiatives that address identified well-being risks
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve project psychological safety, leadership capability, workload management, team effectiveness and culture.
  • Evaluate intervention effectiveness and use insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support projects in meeting client and contractual well-being commitments
  • Build trusted relationships with project leaders, HSEQ professionals, HR teams and client representatives.
  • Influence project decision making by translating well-being data and psychosocial risk information into practical actions.
  • Facilitate workshops, leadership discussions and learning initiatives to increase understanding of major project well-being.
  • Promote the global integrated approach that aligns well-being, health and safety, people experience and organisational performance.
  • Share UK&I major project and programme insights and best practices to inform global programme development.


Measurement and Reporting
  • Analyse project and organisational data to identify risk trends, intervention priorities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Measure the impact and value of well-being interventions through agreed outcomes and success measures.
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting relating to well-being and psychosocial risk management.


What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...
  • Proven experience designing and delivering evidence-based well-being and psychosocial risk interventions.
  • Experience conducting project stress risk assessments and developing practical mitigation plans in complex organisational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders, operational teams and clients to embed well-being into business and project delivery.
  • Experience supporting organisations through change, high-pressure environments and critical workforce wellbeing challenges.
  • The ability to travel frequently across the UK and Ireland.
