Job summary

Band 3 Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) working at West Berkshire Community Hospital

An exciting opportunity for an RDA to join our team. The post involves working in our new state of the art Radiology MRI department at WBCH providing support to patients and clinical teams.

RDAs provide support to the department 7 days per week between 8am and 8pm. However, if you are only able to work weekends, we would still encourage you to apply, as flexible working arrangements may be considered.

Main duties of the job

  • The postholder will assist Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists and other staff working within the MRI Departmen carrying out radiography-related duties, as required
  • They will contribute to the provision of high quality patient care for all patients attending the Radiology Department, ensuring seamless delivery of services within the designated work area
  • The postholder will carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner. To include supporting patients with personal care needs, and providing chaperoning support as required
  • They will work within the reception areas and appointments centre, as required, performing patient reception duties, and general administrative & clerical tasks as defined by the Service Manager
  • The postholder is required to take accountability and responsibility for own actions ,and to work within the CARE values of the Trust
