Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for Band 7 Nurse/Paramedic within the Urgent Community Response (UCR)/ Virtual Ward (VW) Team. In this role, you will deliver a rapid 2-hour response to patients experiencing a health crisis, aiming to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support care in the community as part of the Virtual Ward core clinical delivery team.

The UCR service is an exciting and rapidly evolving part of the NHS, playing a pivotal role in delivering acute care within the community. Aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan's focus on enhancing community-based services, UCR is at the forefront of clinical innovation and integrated care. Recent pilot collaborations with the ambulance servicestreaming 999 calls directly into UCRhave demonstrated the critical impact our staff have in improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital admissions. These initiatives highlight the essential role UCR plays in shaping the future of urgent care, where service development is fast-paced, dynamic, and deeply patient-centred.

We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 Nurses or Paramedics who can demonstrate the potential and ambition to develop into a Band 7 role. For the right candidate, we can offer support, mentorship, and training required to progress into the full Band 7 position.
