Trainee Customs & Export Specialist

Salary: £24,700

Location: Humber / Immingham area

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

We are recruiting for a Trainee Customs & Export Specialist to join a busy shipping and freight forwarding environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop within export customs, customer service, bookings and logistics operations.

You do not need to be the finished article - full training will be provided. What matters most is that you are organised, accurate, willing to learn and able to work well in a fast-moving environment.

The role will involve:

Supporting customer bookings and acting as a key contact for customer queries

Entering bookings onto internal systems

Liaising with transport, planning and export teams

Learning how to complete export customs clearances

Developing knowledge of HMRC export regulations

Assisting with Transit T-Forms and export documentation

Supporting the wider operations team with day-to-day administration

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong attention to detail

Good organisation skills

A confident and approachable manner

Good customer service skills

Strong IT skills

A logical, methodical approach to work

The ability to prioritise and work in a time-critical environment

A genuine interest in logistics, freight forwarding, customs or exports
