The Workforce Information & Planning team plays a vitalrole in supporting leaders and services across Portsmouth Hospitals UniversityNHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust by providing high-quality workforceinformation, analysis and insight. We are passionate about helping managers andclinicians make informed decisions that support our workforce and enable thebest possible care for our patients.

We are looking for a motivated, analytical and enthusiasticindividual to join our Workforce Information & Planning team as a WorkforceInformation Trainee Analyst. This is an exciting development opportunity forsomeone who has a keen interest in data, reporting and business intelligenceand is looking to build a career in workforce analytics within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

Specific Core Functions

  • Responsible for the co-ordination, delegation and collationof responses to workforce related Freedom of Information requests.
  • Monitor the team group mailboxes, answering ad hoc queriesand delegating/ escalating tasks where appropriate.
  • To manage access to the Workforce Insights Dashboard, andrelevant Teams groups and to deliver training on our dashboards on a 1-1 orsmall group basis and reviewing and updating user guides as necessary.
  • Update data on information systems to improve the qualityand integrity of our reports.
  • Develop skills in new technologies to support the team inimproving and automating our current and future processes.
  • To understand and interpret information requirements, assessthe purpose for which the information is required and develop and deliverappropriate solutions using various information tools and techniques.
  • Escalate issues of concern to the Principal WorkforceAnalyst, identify any trends or areas which require further in-depth analysis.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Workforce Analysts, supporting the production of routine and ad hoc workforce information, delivering reporting solutions and helping to improve data quality across a range of workforce systems.
