Business Support Officer - Communities Team (Temp Bank)

We are looking for an organised and proactive Business Support Officer to join Devon County Council's Communities Team on a temporary basis. This is a varied role providing essential administrative, governance and business support to a busy service working with vulnerable individuals, families and partner organisations across Devon.

The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service by supporting managers and practitioners with meeting coordination, governance processes, shared mailboxes, correspondence, record keeping, action tracking and the production of management information. The role also involves supporting finance processes, claims administration, performance monitoring and maintaining accurate records and reporting systems.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills who can manage competing priorities, work accurately and confidently with data, and use their initiative to solve problems. Experience of administration, meeting support, finance processes, reporting or project support would be beneficial, as would experience of working within a local government or public sector environment.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home, County Hall, or a combination of both. A full induction will be provided, and the post offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience supporting a dynamic service whilst contributing to work that has a positive impact on communities across Devon.
