Job summaryWe are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Managerto provide effective operational leadership across Devon Community ForensicServices, including the Specialist Community Forensic Team, ForensicPersonality Disorder Service and Forensic Intellectual and NeurodevelopmentalDisorder Team. Working closely with the LDU Service Manager and senior clinicalcolleagues, you will support safe, high-quality, evidence-based care for peoplewith complex forensic mental health needs.
This is a varied and influentialrole, combining line management, service development, resource management andcomplex clinical support. You will help ensure services are responsive,well-governed and focused on supporting recovery, reducing unnecessaryout-of-area placements, enabling timely discharge from secure care andpromoting successful reintegration into the community.
The post requires strongleadership, communication and change management skills, alongside the abilityto work collaboratively with health, social care, criminal justice, housing,voluntary sector and regional forensic partners.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will support the operational management andcontinued development of Community Forensic Services, deputising for the LDUService Manager when required.
Key duties include providing professionalleadership and line management to staff; overseeing supervision, appraisal,recruitment, retention, training and safe staffing; managing resources withinagreed budgets; and monitoring service performance, quality, governance,safeguarding, complaints, incidents, audits and key performance indicators.
Youwill contribute to service design, improvement and implementation, ensuringcompliance with commissioning standards, CQC requirements, Trust policy andrelevant legal frameworks. The role includes supporting complex clinicaldecision-making, risk management, care pathway development, assessment andcaseload oversight, while promoting partnership working to reduce socialexclusion and improve community reintegration.
You will chair and attendclinical, governance and team meetings, communicate complex and sensitiveinformation effectively, support staff and student development, maintain highstandards of record keeping, and build strong relationships with internalteams, regional forensic services, commissioners and external agencies.
