About the Role

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience or continue your career in education while making a meaningful difference to pupils' learning? We are recruiting enthusiastic, caring, and reliable Teaching Assistants to support schools across Hastings.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing within the classroom. You will assist with delivering learning activities, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential.

Key Duties

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
• Assist pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Prepare learning resources and support classroom organisation.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable).
• A positive, patient, and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
