Job description

A Weekend Role With Great Purpose - Support Worker, Milton Keynes

At MacIntyre, we believe everyone deserves a life that makes sense to them - gloriously ordinary, in the best possible way. Full of choice, connection, and the chance to use your own gifts and passions in your own community.

As a Support Worker, you'll help make that happen. Not by doing things for people, but by standing alongside them - building positive relationships, showing respect and compassion, and championing their independence every step of the way.

We're looking for a part-time Support Worker for 15 hours a week, working Saturdays and Sundays. No experience needed - just the right attitude. We'll teach you everything else.
What you'd actually be doing

You'd be part of the lives of the people we support (aged 40-70), who live together in a six-bedroom house or a three-bedroom bungalow - both a short walk from shops, a café, a park and a pub they love popping into.

Day to day could mean:
  • Swimming, bowling, cinema trips, holidays, walks in the park
  • Cooking dinner together, tackling the washing up, keeping the home running
  • Helping with personal care and medication when needed
  • Just being there - chatting, laughing, sharing the things you're both into
Who they're hoping to meet

Someone who listens properly. Who's warm, outgoing, and brings good energy into a room. Someone who wants to be part of people's lives, not just present in them. If that's you, you'll fit in fast.
The practical bits
  • Working pattern: Saturdays and Sundays, 15 hours per week
  • Typical shifts: Early 07:30-15:00 or Late 14:30-22:00
  • You'll need to be available for occasional weekday training - this is an essential part of the role, so please only apply if you can commit to this alongside your weekend hours
Why this job, why now

It's a genuine way into a career in Health and Social care - one where you'll pick up real skills, join a team that has each other's backs, and end most shifts knowing you made someone's day better.

If you've got kindness and personality to spare, we'd love to meet you.
