Are you an experienced Electrical Installation professional looking to take the next step in your career?

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled electrical professional and educator to take a leading role in shaping and delivering high-quality Electrical Installation programmes. The role offers a unique blend of curriculum leadership and classroom teaching, with responsibilities split between developing exceptional learning programmes outside the classroom and delivering engaging teaching within the classroom.

About the Role

As a Study Programme Lead, you'll take course ownership of our Electrical Installation programmes at our Abingdon campus. Working under the guidance of the Curriculum Manager, you will help to drive learner success, curriculum quality and continuous improvement, taking advantage of significant allocated remission time (currently 120 hours) to focus on course curriculum leadership.

Your time will be divided between:

Curriculum Leadership and Programme Development
  • Dedicated responsibility for leading and developing Electrical Installation programmes, with significant remission from teaching.
  • Designing and implementing effective programme and course inductions.
  • Coordinating learning plans and contributing to curriculum and timetable planning.
  • Supporting quality assurance processes, including internal verification activities.
  • Monitoring learner performance data and ensuring programme records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Using student feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Working with employers and industry partners to enhance curriculum relevance and learner opportunities.
  • Supporting work experience and industry placement activity.

Teaching and Learner Development
  • Delivering high-quality Electrical Installation teaching across a range of programmes.
  • Inspiring and motivating learners through engaging and innovative teaching practices.
  • Taking ownership of students' academic progress and implementing interventions when needed.
  • Conducting one-to-one reviews, tutorials and progress meetings.
  • Providing effective pastoral support, guidance and learner development.
  • Preparing students for progression into apprenticeships, employment or further education.

What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Qualified and experienced lecturer in FE
  • Extensive industry experience and technical expertise.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for learner success and curriculum excellence.

Desirable
  • Experience within a post-16 further education environment.
  • Internal verification experience or Lead Internal Verifier status.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completion of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
