Contract Duration: Hours will be offered during the 2026/27 academic year.

Hours: There are no regular hours of work. Hours will be variable and are not guaranteed. Student Ambassadors decide which shifts to apply for and the HR Team allocates them in accordance with operational needs. Work opportunities will vary throughout the week and weekends including evenings and Saturdays with the occasional Sunday.

The closing date for completed applications is: Sunday 4th October 2026

Successful applicants will be invited to an assessment centre and interview on one of the following dates: 21st and 22nd October 2026

Applications are open only to current University students enrolled on a current programme of study in the 26/27 academic year. If you are a student and due to graduate before January 2027 you are not eligible for this recruitment round.

Job title: Student Ambassador

Reporting to: Designated member of UK Recruitment team or other shift supervisor

Main purpose of the job:

Student Ambassadors play a vital role in aiding the UK and International Recruitment Department in a variety

of recruitment events on and off campus. You are the face and voice of the University. You are responsible

for ensuring each guest, prospective student, etc. receives a friendly, warm and welcoming impression of

the University no matter what kind of event or shift you are working. Being a Student Ambassador gives you

the opportunity to share your positive experiences of Roehampton to important stakeholders including

prospective students and parents. All Student Ambassadors are expected to be friendly and professional at

all times.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The main duties a Student Ambassador will undertake include (but are not limited to):

• Campus Tours and Visits

• Recruitment Fairs through UCAS, UK University Search, What University, etc.

• Taster and Open Events

• Assisting with Graduation

• International Summer schools /arrivals

• University Enrolment, welcome and registration events

• Social Media Content Creation

• HE Fairs at schools and colleges

• School talks and presentations

• Supporting with webinars

• Widening Participation events with IntoUniversity, AimHigher, etc.

• Assisting Primary Education, Nursing and Dance interview days

• Q&A sessions

• Sign posting

In the course of undertaking these duties, it is the responsibility of the Student Ambassador to:

• Honour any shift volunteered for and subsequently assigned to them.

• Be punctual in the attendance of their duties, ensuring they turn up to the event with plenty of time.

• Undertake the requirements of the work engagement assigned as detailed in the pre

engagement brief and in line with the training provided.

• Act in a professional manner at all times when carrying out their duties.

• Maintain clear and professional communications with fellow Student Ambassadors, the

UK Recruitment team and customers of the events worked by the Student Ambassador.

• Attend all mandatory induction and training sessions

• Act in accordance with relevant University policy including but not limited to IT related policy,

Health and Safety related policy and relevant HR policies and procedures.

Additional Information

• There are no regular hours of work. Hours will be variable and are not guaranteed. Student

Ambassadors decide which shifts to apply for and the HR Team allocates them in accordance with

operational needs. Work opportunities will vary throughout the week and weekends including

evenings and Saturdays with the occasional Sunday. Any work will be agreed in advance via When

I Work (our scheduling and timesheet management platform) and once agreed must be honoured by

the Student Ambassador.

• The hourly rate of pay is inclusive of accrued holiday pay

• This role is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed in the University's temporary worker

agreement.

• This appointment may require a DBS check depending on the specific shifts being undertaken
