Job summaryWard 32 is a busy 29 bed acute cardiology ward with a 7 bedded CCU attached and also a 6 bedded cardiac day suite.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are kind and caring with excellent communication skills who are committed to the delivery of high quality care within a supportive environment.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role and you will supported by a team of dedicated staff and will be encouraged to continue to extend your knowledge and skills.
We are developing a range of competencies to support you in your role and with a full rotation to practice in all areas.
Newly qualified nurses are invited to apply as we offer full preceptorship.
Main duties of the jobo Take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the nursing care for a named caseload of patients, including their property and valuableso Assist in creating a therapeutic environment which meets the needs of patients, relatives and carerso Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelineso Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary teamo Contribute to promoting a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of care and implementation of changeo Participate in auditso Continuously update own skills and knowledge and maintain awareness of clinical issueso In the absence of the Ward/Departmental Manager or their deputy, act as shift coordinatoro Act as a preceptor, Practice Assessor/Supervisor and/or NVQ assessor to junior staff and studentso Supervise and lead a team of junior staffo Undertake appraisals of staff within the teamo Contribute to meeting the agreed objectives for the Ward/Departmento Be aware of and adhere to national, local and professional policies, protocols and guidelineso Ensure effective communication with Patients , families , peers promoting safe patient care and good patient experience.
