Job Title and Role: Sport for Development Assistant
Salary range: £6, - £8, dependent on experience
Fixed term contract: 18 months October 6 to March 8 (extension sbject to fnding)
Hors: Fll Time 37.5 hors a week. Please note this opportnity is available on a fixed-term contract or secondment basis.
Directly responsible to: Operations and Development Manager
Location: Anywhere worker - Yo will work from the Chelmsford office approximately 1 / days a week and across or operational area on other days, depending on bsiness need. (Conty Hall, Chelmsford, CM1 1QH)

Working closely with or LTO network enables s to reach those who may be least likely to engage with traditional services and ensre spport is tailored to local needs.
Throgh partnerships with or LTOs, we deliver programmes that se physical activity, mentoring and commnity spport to bild resilience, improve wellbeing and redce ineqalities. This role will play a key part in developing and strengthening these relationships, helping or LTO network to maximise its impact and deliver positive otcomes for yong people and commnities across Essex.

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportnity to join the Active Essex Fondation team as a
Sport for Development Assistant.The Sport for Development Assistant will play an important role in spporting the delivery and coordination of these programmes. Working closely with the Sport for Development Officer, programme leads, Locally Trsted Organisations (LTOs), and commnity stakeholders, the postholder will help ensre smooth programme administration, high-qality commnication, and effective operational spport across or mental health, yoth crime prevention and commnity strengthening work.
The ideal candidate will bring strong relationship-bilding skills and experience of working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The post holder will work with AEF staff across the bsiness to deliver the dties and responsibilities set ot below.
Main dties and responsibilities:Spport the Sport for Development Officer in maintaining positive relationships with commnity organisations across Sport, Yoth Crime Prevention, and Yong People's Mental Health & Wellbeing programmes.Assist in gathering and pdating information abot people and organisations involved in programme delivery.Act as a first point of contact for LTOs where appropriate, ensring timely responses and consistent messaging.Spport ongoing LTO liaison, helping maintain strong commnication channels and ensring LTOs feel spported and connected.Programme Spport & Referral ManagementProvide administrative spport the coordination of referrals into project activities, working with delivery partners and Locally Trsted Organisations (LTOs) to ensre referrals are tracked, commnicated and actioned effectiveMaintain organised records of referral pathways, otcomes, and follow-p actions.Compliance, Governance & Fnding AdministrationSpport LTO compliance processes by collecting reqired docmentation, checking sbmissions, and maintaining organised records.Assist with monitoring LTO performance against fnding agreements and flagging concerns to the Sport for Development Officer and Operations and Development Manager.Provide basic gidance to LTOs on reporting templates, deadlines, and docmentation reqirements.Training, Events & Capacity BildingAssist in planning and coordinating training sessions, development opportnities, and Share & Learn events.Spport event logistics inclding schedling, invitations, materials preparation, and follow-p commnication.Help maintain records of attendance, feedback, and learning otcomes.Qality Assrance & MonitoringSpport the Sport for Development Officer with schedling and preparing Qality Assrance visits.Assist in maintaining records of visit findings, safegarding checks, and follow-p actions.Help track Smart Corses ptake and ensre LTOs have access to reqired resorces.Digital Systems & Project Management SpportProvide administrative spport for Monday.com, inclding pdating project boards, tracking actions, maintaining timelines, and spporting project docmentation.Assist with general project management tasks across programmes, ensring information is accrate, p-to-date, and accessible.Spport website maintenance, inclding pdating content, ploading docments, and ensring information is crrent and ser-friendly.Commnications & AdministrationMonitor and manage the admin inbox, ensring timely responses, appropriate triage, and escalation where needed.Spport internal commnication processes, inclding schedling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking actions.Assist with preparing case stdies, smmaries, and basic evalation content for internal and external reportingEvalation, Data & ReportingAssist with programme data collection, ensring accracy and consistency across sbmissions.Collect case stdies, smmaries, and basic evalation content for internal and external reporting.Work with colleages to ensre data is stored correctly and spports programme development.Continos Improvement & Strategic SpportIdentify small improvements to administrative processes, commnication systems, and programme coordination.Contribte to internal discssions by sharing insights from day-to-day programme spport.Other Responsibilities:Take responsibility for personal professional development.Work closely with the other colleages to improve operational practices and effectiveness.Attend Active Essex Fondation Trstee meetings as directed by Trstees.Attend Active Essex Fondation Events and meetings as reqired.Attend Active Essex team meetings as reqired.Active Essex Fondation General Dties:To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedres, ndertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.It will be necessary to work with information technology and associated systems in accordance with Active Essex Fondation policies.To co-operate with the Active Essex Fondation in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedres in the performance of the dties of the post.To carry ot the dties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Active Essex Fondation eqity and safegarding policies.To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated gidelines where appropriate.To carry ot any other reasonable dties and responsibilities within the overall fnction, commensrate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.Knowledge Skills and ExperienceEdcated to A-Level or eqivalent by experience, with commitment to ongoing development.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage mltiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Good commnication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with commnities or volntary organisations is beneficial.
Ability to maintain accrate records and spport data collection processes.
Confidence sing IT systems, inclding Monday.com or similar project management tools.
Ability to pdate and maintain website content.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
A strengths-based mindset and willingness to learn abot commnity development approaches.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to meet mobility reqirements throgh other means.
