We are looking for therapists who:
Hold a degree (or equivalent) in Speech and Language Therapy
Are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Are members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
Have experience managing adults with communication and swallowing disorders
Have excellent communication and team-working skills
Are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care
Are enthusiastic about service development and continuous improvement
Person specificationTraining & Qualifications Essential criteria - Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification
- Health Professions Council - License to Practice
- Registered member of RCSLT
- Evidence of successful completion of short courses related to client group
Experience Essential criteria - Significant post qualification experience in at least one relevant clinical area, working with adults or children with dysphagia and communication difficulties
- Well established knowledge of assessment tools for specialist group
- Established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrates effective ability to prioritise a large caseload
- Evidence of post-graduate dysphagia training
- Evidence of completing RCSLT newly qualified competencies
- Experience of goal setting
- NHS experience in an acute hospital
Desirable criteria - Advanced dysphagia training
- Experience of supporting other staff and students
- Experience in community or outpatient SLT settings
Professional Skills Essential criteria - Able to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
- Able to use computer programmes and systems appropriate to the post.
- Excellent written communication and presentation
- Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills
- Has an awareness of guidelines and policies
- Demonstrated NUH Trust values
Desirable criteria - Able to plan and organise the work of assistants or students
Other Essential criteria - Car driver with access to car insured for business use
