STaRS is a specialist, high-intensity recovery service supporting adults with complex and enduring mental health needs. We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dynamic Specialist Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team and help people achieve meaningful recovery.This is a rewarding opportunity to utilise and develop your leadership and clinical skills. You will provide specialist assessment, intervention and care co-ordination.

We're looking for someone who, Inspires, motivates, and develops others. Confidently managers complex risk, demand, and capacity Champions recovery-focused trauma-informed care. Has experience supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health needs. Builds strong partnerships across services and agencies.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage a caseload of community adult clients with multiple and complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To support the team/clinical lead in providing clinical and supervisory leadership to junior colleagues, support workers and students within own area of responsibility, within the multidisciplinary team.
  • To be jointly responsible with other colleagues with the implementation of policy, protocol, service/practice development and change within own are of responsibility.
  • To continue to demonstrate specialist clinical skills in practice and provide support/advice re service development and the delivery of care, in partnership with service users, careers, staff, managers and other agencies.

  • Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area, to demonstrate advanced level of practice.
  • Demonstrable experience of mentoring pre-registration students
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers, and their application to clinical and service area, e.g., Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area.
Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD or experiential learning at an advanced level e.g. Postgraduate/master's level
  • Leadership training/qualification/experience
  • Evidence of project work that has impacted on practice and demonstrates a higher level of communication/planning/change that impacts within own area of work/responsibility.
Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
  • Evidence of development of specialist practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development.
  • Previous community based experience or band 6 experience transferrable to community setting
  • Experience of leading on complex care delivery
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience of working in the specific field where the post is held.
  • Development of specialist/advanced level of practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development.
