Person specificationEducation/Qualification Essential criteria - Podiatry professional degree qualification.
- Registration with Health Professions Council.
- Certificate in Local Anaesthesia.
- Evidence or Portfolio of post-grad Continued Development
- Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings.
- Evidence of Specialist study and training in Diabetes e.g. SOCAP/COP/RCOP Diabetic Foot Module; Post graduate study.
- Experience of working at a Band 6 level or above and evidence of working with a high-risk caseload, specifically diabetes in an acute and community setting.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working.
Desirable criteria - Independent Prescriber status
- Ionising Radiation (medical exposure) Regulations Training
- Training in requesting and interpretation of investigations relevant to diabetic foot complications
Experience Essential criteria - Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings
- Experience of working at a Band 6 level or above and evidence of working with a high-risk caseload, specifically diabetes in an acute and community setting.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working
Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria - In-depth knowledge in the management of the diabetic foot and general medical diabetes management.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NICE Diabetes clinical guidelines and NSF in Diabetes
- Good inter-personal skills needed to liaise with Diabetes Consultants and other specialists in this field.
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your own work time
- Ability to deal professionally and objectively with distressing/uncomfortable situations, e.g. terminally ill patients, child abuse, providing guidance to team members where appropriate
- The ability to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and skills.
- Knowledge and application of clinical governance.
- Knowledge of diversity issues and ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Other Essential criteria - Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
