Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Relevant professional qualification
• Educated to Masters Level
• Speciality qualification
• Non Medical Prescribing

Desirable criteria

• Teaching qualification
• Advanced Communication Skills Training

Training/Experience

Essential criteria

• Minimum two years at band 7 or above practitioner level
• Completed course/module in research methods

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria

• Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/speciality
• Significant evidence of delivering teaching programmes to staff groups
• Evidence of presentations at local, regional, national level
• Palliative care experience across settings including acute, community and Hospice settings
• Demonstrates ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback to clinicians
• Evidence of audit's undertaken and outcomes
• Evidence of implementation of research-based practice
• Minimum two years at band 7 or above practitioner level
• Demonstrates ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback to clinicians
• Evidence of audit's undertaken and outcomes
• Evidence of implementation of research-based practice

Desirable criteria

• Further evidence of continued leadership development e.g. RCN programme
• Evidence of participation in research projects
• Published in peer reviewed journals
• Contribution to academic programmes.

Other

Essential criteria

• Competent in use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Good knowledge of clinical information systems e.g. HIVE, EMIS, PAS, ICE and CWS

• Competent in databases and spreadsheets
