Person specificationEducation Essential criteria - Active HCPC Registration
- Experience of autonomous working as an Orthoptist
- Degree/Qualification in Orthoptics
Experience Essential criteria - Substantial post-qualification experience across a wide range of paediatric and adult orthoptic clinics
- Experience managing complex or specialist caseloads independently
- Experience supervising junior staff, students, or assistants
- Experience contributing to service development, pathway improvement, or implementation of new clinical processes
- Experience participating in audit, quality improvement, or research activities
- Experience using electronic patient record systems and ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
Desirable criteria - Experience working within extended roles (e.g., low vision, refraction, ophthalmic diagnostics, IVT/macular pathways, or equivalent)
Knowledge/Skills Essential criteria - Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Able to work both as an individual or as a part of a team
- Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, patients and the public
