Person specificationEducation/Qualification Essential criteria - Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Attendance at specialist short courses or equivalent CPD activities within the specialist areas of Adult Rehabilitation, Falls, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Older People Rehabilitation, Palliation
Experience Essential criteria - Substantial post registration experience as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist
- Experience working at a Junior level in a wide range of specialised clinical areas, providing care to frail and elderly patients with long-term conditions and/or complex health needs including outpatients, neurology, rehabilitation, orthopedics and respiratory
- Experience of negotiating and liaising within a multi-disciplinary team in NHS and social services
Desirable criteria - Experience in service development projects
Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria - Skills in the assessment and treatment d, identifying any risk or potential problem and act appropriately effective record keeping, with adults with complex conditions and multi-pathologies
- Knowledge and understanding of complex medical conditions including multipathologies and falls.
- Ability to apply core Occupational Therapy skills across a range of clinical conditions within a client centred, goal setting.
- Knowledge of outcome measures and evidence based practice associated with Occupational Therapy
- Good communication and report writing skills, in both verbal and written format to accurately report and feedback information to colleagues and others
- Knowledge and understanding of the role of Social Services and voluntary agencies
- Knowledge of research and audit processes
