Person specificationEducation/Qualification Essential criteria - RGN / RSCN / RN(Child)
- Community Nursing /Specialist Practitioner Qualification or palliative care qualification
- Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration
- Evidence of post registration education and training including a teaching qualification
Desirable criteria - Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification
Experience Essential criteria - Extensive experience of working within Children's Nursing in a range of settings
- Children's Palliative Care Experience at Band 6 level
- Previous management experience
- Experience of liaising / negotiating with professionals
Desirable criteria - Community based children's palliative care experience
Skills & Knowledge Essential criteria - Expertise in nursing assessment / clinical skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Time management and prioritisation skills
- Knowledge of the purpose and value of Clinical Supervision and support of staff
- Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities
Desirable criteria - Knowledge of legal and statutory implications / requirements for training parents / carers
