Are you passionate about improving the emotional wellbeing, attendance, inclusion and life chances of children and young people?

Nottinghamshire Educational Psychology Service is seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Educational Psychologist (SEMH) to join our innovative Experts at Hand programme. This exciting role combines specialist educational psychology practice with strategic leadership, helping schools, settings and services to develop inclusive, psychologically informed approaches that promote wellbeing, attendance, belonging and positive outcomes.

About the Role

You will:
  • Lead the development of evidence-informed SEMH practice across schools, settings and services.
  • Provide specialist consultation, advice and intervention for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Work collaboratively with schools, settings, Assistant Educational Psychologists and partner agencies to strengthen inclusion and build capacity.
  • Contribute to strategic SEND developments and county-wide improvement initiatives.

Role dimensions:
  • Work closely with a range of education, health and care partners.
  • Maintain strong links with the Educational Psychology Service.
  • Benefit from ongoing professional supervision, peer support and CPD opportunities.
  • Lead and influence practice while remaining connected to the wider EP profession.
  • Help shape the future direction of SEND inclusion across the county.

About You

You will be an HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist (or expecting registration shortly) with:
  • A strong commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and social justice.
  • Excellent consultation and partnership-working skills.
  • The ability to apply psychology at individual, group and organisational levels.
  • A passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
