Job overviewSpecialised Musculo-Skeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist -
Band 6 Cross site/Rotational
Following development of our MSK collaborative under East Sussex MSK, we continue to look to the growth and development of our MSK Physiotherapy services. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Band 5 or Band 6 with some prior experience of working with MSK patients. This will be a cross-site role, giving you the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients accessing our service, and develop your MSK assessment and management skills.
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust currently delivers a musculoskeletal physiotherapy service within 8 outpatient, acute and community settings. This role will provide specialist MSK expertise cross site in the East Sussex locality, so ability to travel efficiently will be essential.
Main duties of the jobYou will be working in a supportive team environment, alongside experienced MSK clinicians, including advanced practitioners, the MSK Clinical Lead, Rehab Leads and the MSK Clinical Consultant. This role will also be central to our collaboration with with other providers as part of the East Sussex MSK collaborative, to drive innovation and best practice within our MSK care pathways across Sussex.
Our teams have a strong commitment to supporting personal professional development through an embedded in-service training programme, clinical and leadership supervision, mentoring and appraisal. The successful candidate will be integral to the delivery of this.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, alongside sound knowledge and experience in the management of a wide range of MSK conditions. They will assist the Band 7, Advanced Practice MSK Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Leads to deliver evidence based care pathways for our patients and will take an active part in participation and provision of in-service training. You will be providing supervision and support to junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants in the team, as well as supporting student placements and work experience placements.

Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria - Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with HCPC
- Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field
Desirable criteria - Relevant validated clinical course
Experience Essential criteria - Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience, with minimum 6 months musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy experience
- Experience of training/supervision of rotational - technical - assistant and staff and students
- Experience of multi-professional MDT working ie. Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Advance Practitioners.
- Experience of using client-centred, functional goals and outcome measures
