£5,69 to £59,54 per annm + benefits

Location: Chelmsford*

Working Style: Anywhere worker

*This is a hybrid-working role contractally based in Chelmsford. Yo will work from the Chelmsford office 1- days per week, and as reqired de to bsiness need. Whilst travel is not sally expected there may occasionally be a need to be off site.

As part of a specialist team reporting to the Legal Services Manager (Highways and Environment), yo will work closely with colleages to deliver a high-performing client-facing legal service. Essex Legal Services (ELS) provides a comprehensive legal service to the Concil, with the majority of work delivered in-hose. We work on a nmber of interesting and complex infrastrctre and development projects taking place in the Conty of Essex.

We are looking for a Qalified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Exective who is excited to join or team, get involved with or projects and who can bild strong and effective relationships with clients. The role involves delivering high-qality advice, information, analysis and interpretation to spport decision-making and compliance with stattory reqirements.

What We're Looking For

Qalified solicitor or barrister or legal exective with fll valid practising certificate

Ability to establish credibility with Directors, senior management and other key stakeholders inclding LPA representatives.

Ability to commnicate effectively as well as good drafting and negotiating skill.

Demonstrably good case management skills.

Ability to contribte effectively in a large complex organisation.

knowledge and nderstanding of providing legal advice in a pblic sector setting; inclding bt not limited to advising on a fll range of planning isses at district and conty level, preparing docments inclding a sbstantial nmber of section 16 agreements and ndertakings (drafting and negotiating bi or tri party, with local LPAs, can inclde s78 and other stattory agreements for development sites), dealing with pblic inqiries, advising at committee for the Conty Concil's stattory roles sch as edcation athority, highway athority and mineral and waste planning athority.
