We're recriting for Social Workers (Link Family Workers) to join or high-performing Family Soltions team based in West Essex.

The Opportnity

As a Social Worker (Family Worker), yor role will be varied, impactfl, and deeply rewarding and yo will:
  • Act as a sorce of advice and spport for colleages, inclding joint visits and joint working on complex cases for example those which wold benefit from social worker expertise sch as concerns arond neglect.
  • Spport the team to bild positive and constrctive working relationships with colleages in stattory children's services.
  • Manage yor own caseload and assess safegarding risks.
  • Work in partnership with the team manager and practice spervisor to review referrals and spport threshold decisions as reqired by the team.
  • Bild strong, trsting relationships with families to promote positive change.
  • Provide practical and specialist advice,
  • Facilitate complex family meetings and coordinating additional spport services.
  • Offer emotional and practical spport in homes and commnity settings.
  • Work closely with yor manager or senior social worker throgh reglar spervision.
  • An opportnity to spport the frther integration or Family Soltions and Children Social Care as part of the Family First Partnership Programme.

  • Accontabilities
  • Responsible for spporting manager and practice spervisor to ndertake screenings of new contacts, nderstanding threshold.
  • Responsible for determining the direction and actions reqired in order to progress cases forward on a day-to-day basis; recognising when key decisions regarding risks/concerns need to be referred to the Team Manager or Practice Spervisor.
  • Responsible for acting as a sorce of advice, gidance and spport to colleages in relation to complex cases which wold benefit from social work expertise, mentoring and giding alternatively qalified colleages in best practice.
  • Responsible for ndertaking holistic assessments of family needs to help create intervention plans and identify how otcomes can be achieved that flly reflect the family and yong person's views and aspirations, delivering interventions, inclding grop work programs, to spport families to make change.
  • Responsible for facilitating complex family meetings, managing the potentially competing views of families and professionals, in order to find achievable soltions.
  • Responsible for ndertaking individal and grop programmes of work to enable children and families to develop their skills to resolve isses and problems themselves; providing information and accompanying families to help access other local services.
  • Responsible for providing specific practical, personal and emotional spport to families in their homes or other settings as part of an agreed plan in order to achieve agreed and sstainable family otcomes.
  • Responsible for actively participating in reglar spervision in order to review work and ensre effective interventions for families.
  • Responsible for ensring that the principles of effective practice are flly embedded in service delivery; working collaboratively with staff and partners to ensre effective risk management in line with the thresholds of the Effective Spport and Gidance docment to ensre that the Family Soltions team nderstands and follows the SET child protection procedres.
  • Specific individal and shared targets and objectives are defined annally within the performance management framework.

  • The Experience Yo Will Bring
  • Qalified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, and post-ASYE.
  • Recent experience in a frontline children's services, experience of completing assessment and managing CIN and or CP Cases.
  • At least two years' experience post qalifying
  • Hold of willing to work towards Practice Edcator Qalification
  • A strong commitment to phold the standards and vales of the social work profession.
  • Evidence of contining professional development with good knowledge in relevant professional area and commitment to the principles of evidence-based practice.
  • Significant practical experience of working with families with mltiple and complex needs.
  • Effective commnication skills, good problem solving and assessment skills with a demonstrable track record of bilding and sstaining positive professional relationships with individals and families with mltiple and complex needs.
  • Experience of applying a soltion focsed approach and providing practical advice and spport to families to enable them to achieve positive and sstainable otcomes.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others to maximise otcomes for families in line with the Family Soltions operating principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to se spervision appropriately.

  • The role reqires yo to be mobile throghot a wider operational area inclding travelling arond the conty of Essex and beyond, transporting service sers and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility reqirements of the role throgh other means is essential.
