Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention Team, North Essex

Permanent, Part Time

£36,14 to £51,834 per annm (fll time eqivalent)

Location: Clacton on Sea

Working Style: Commnity-based worker

Please note this is a part time role working . hors per week. The pro rata salary will be £1,674 to £31,1 per annm.

Assessment and Intervention (A&I)

Or Assessment and Intervention Teams are the vital gateway throgh which children, yong people, parents/carers, and partner agencies access Children and Families services. These teams play a crcial role in safegarding and spporting children from pre-birth p to their 18th birthday.

As part of the A&I service, yo will ndertake incoming assessments and deliver short-term, impactfl interventions with families. The focs is on spporting Children in Need (CIN) and their families throgh a strctred three-month intervention period. Yo will also be involved in Section 47 child protection enqiries, working collaboratively with the police and other agencies to assess and respond to immediate risks.

Where longer-term spport is reqired, cases are transferred to or Family Spport and Protection Teams. Alternatively, families may be stepped down to Family Soltions as part of or Early Help Offer, if a social work service is no longer needed following assessment and brief intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload, working directly with children, yong people, and families/carers.
  • Condct enqiries, assessments, and prposefl interventions to achieve positive change and improved otcomes.
  • ndertake direct work and reviews in relation to Child Protection, Child in Need, and Children Looked After.
  • Spport children in achieving permanency, inclding those in the care of the local athority.

  • What yo will need
  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS or eqivalent and registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
  • Demonstrable capability of practice in accordance with crrent professional standards e.g. Professional Capability Framework (PCF), Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
  • Demonstrate an ability in the application of social work knowledge, sing emotional intelligence, analytical skills and act with confidence in challenging social and family sitations.
  • A good working knowledge and ability to se information technology and related systems e.g. Word, social work case recording systems.
  • Reqired to work flexibly as reqired, very occasionally inclding evenings and weekends.

  • The role reqires yo to be mobile throghot a wider operational area inclding travelling arond the conty of Essex and beyond, transporting service sers and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility reqirements of the role throgh other means is essential.
