Site Engineer

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 highways project in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the successful delivery of highways and associated civil engineering works.

Working closely with the Site Management and Engineering teams, you will be responsible for setting out activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for highways and civil engineering works
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Managing quality assurance processes, ITPs, and inspections
• Reviewing drawings and identifying any design issues
• Supporting subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to specification
• Assisting with progress reporting and programme management
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Managing and administering permits associated with site activities

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor preferred
• Strong setting out experience using survey equipment
• Experience managing permits, including excavation and work permits
• Knowledge of QA processes, ITPs, and site documentation
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• CSCS Card essential
