* Ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and reviews and regularly updates these standards
*To take responsibility for the assessments of the care needs; the development, implementation and evaluation of care to ensure the highest possible standards of care are received by patients
*To supervise and teach other nursing and non-nursing staff, acting as an excellent clinical role model and team leader to ensure quality care is delivered to the patients.
Person specificationQUALIFICATIONS Essential criteria - Registered Children's Nurse and has current live PIN on NMC register.
- Evidence of recent and continuing professional development.
- Teaching/assessment qualification
Desirable criteria - Diploma or Degree level study.
- Relevant clinical course
- EPALS
EXPERIENCE Essential criteria - Post registration experience in Paediatric Nursing
- Experience of leading the Ward/Unit and ensuring high quality care is delivered
- Experience of completing & supporting with audits
Desirable criteria - Experience with appraisals
- Experience of supporting a new starter/students
- Experience of Datix and complaints management
SKILLS Essential criteria - Demonstrates skills in leaderships & management
- Intravenous medications
Desirable criteria - Cannulation & Venepuncture
- Understanding for managing early stages of capability, conduct & sickness absence
- Interview skills
