We are recruiting a Senior Transport Planner at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Tŷ Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
Team: Transportation Engineering - Transport Strategy and Development Control

We pay an attractive salary of £44,253 - £47,665 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Join our Transportation Engineering team as a Senior Transport Planner and play a leading role in shaping the future of sustainable transport across the County Borough.

You will be responsible for securing, managing and delivering externally funded Active Travel, EV charging, road safety and transport infrastructure projects, while supporting transport policy development, strategic planning and regional partnerships.

The role offers the opportunity to influence key transport initiatives, manage significant funding programmes and contribute directly to the Council's decarbonisation, regeneration and sustainable travel objectives. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and transport planning skills are essential.

For the role, we ask that you have:

• A relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, HNC or Degree in Transport Planning.
• The ability to make sound financial and technical decisions on a day-to-day basis and able to persuade others to review alternatives when required.
• Experience of managing/ supervising technical transportation and engineering staff.
• Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a Council vehicle.
